Terms of Service

Terms of Service

Plain-English terms for using RepoAppraisal. Last updated 4 August 2026. These terms are not legal advice, and Elyan Labs LLC is not a licensed appraisal firm.

1. Who operates this service

RepoAppraisal is operated by Elyan Labs LLC, a limited liability company formed in Louisiana, USA. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Elyan Labs LLC, and “you” means the person or organisation using the service. Contact: scottbphone12@gmail.com.

2. What this service is — and is not

RepoAppraisal produces an illustrative valuation framework for public software work. It is not a certified appraisal. It is not prepared under USPAP or any other appraisal standard, it is not reviewed or signed by a licensed appraiser, and Elyan Labs LLC is not a licensed appraisal firm in any jurisdiction.

You must not use anything produced by this service:

  • as the basis for a lending or collateral decision;
  • for any tax filing, deduction, valuation, or position;
  • as the basis of an employment decision, including hiring, promotion, compensation, or termination;
  • as evidence in litigation, arbitration, or any regulatory proceeding;
  • anywhere a certified, licensed, or independent valuation is required or reasonably expected.

3. Not professional advice

Nothing produced by this service is financial, investment, accounting, tax, legal, or professional advice. No fiduciary, advisory, or client relationship is created by your use of it. Consult a qualified professional before acting on anything here.

4. Where the data comes from

Figures are derived from publicly available data, primarily the public GitHub REST and GraphQL APIs, and public package registries such as PyPI and npm. We do not access private repositories, private organisation data, or any account you have not made public. Public data changes constantly, third-party APIs change without notice, and some figures (for example GitHub traffic statistics) are only retained for a rolling window and cannot be reproduced retroactively.

5. No warranty of accuracy

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that any figure, range, finding, or conclusion is accurate, current, complete, or suitable for your purpose. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Elyan Labs LLC and its members, officers, and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, or loss of goodwill, arising from or relating to your use of or reliance on this service — whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, and even if advised of the possibility.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you actually paid us for the specific report giving rise to the claim, or fifty United States dollars (US$50).

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the service to harass, defame, or target any individual; not to scrape, overload, or circumvent rate limits; not to resell or republish reports as your own certified valuation work; and not to use it in violation of GitHub's terms or any applicable law.

8. Third parties named in reports

Comparable sets cite only public, factual metrics for named third parties. No valuation, worth ranking, or authenticity judgment is attached to any named third party. Any person or organisation may request removal from any published page at any time under our Removal & Correction Policy, with no reason required.

9. Payments and refunds

Paid report tiers, where offered, are described with their price at the point of purchase. Because a report is delivered as a completed work product, refunds are handled case by case; contact us at scottbphone12@gmail.com and we will deal with you fairly. Payment processing is handled by a third-party processor and is subject to that processor's own terms.

10. Intellectual property

The appraisal method is published under the Apache License 2.0 at github.com/Scottcjn/github-portfolio-appraisal. Site copy and page design are © Elyan Labs LLC. Underlying public data belongs to its respective sources and rights holders.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. The “last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, United States of America, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Louisiana, and you consent to that venue and jurisdiction.

This page is written in plain English for readability. It is a statement of our terms, not legal advice to you. Elyan Labs LLC is not a licensed appraiser and not a law firm.
